Scott is an experienced serial entrepreneur, with Pragmatic being his sixth technology venture, which he co-founded and led as CEO for its first 12 years. He is also an Advisor at venture fund Deeptech Labs, a member of the Bessemer Society Semiconductor Leadership Group, and sits on the UK Government’s Semiconductor Advisory Panel.

Scott graduated from the University of Western Australia with a 1st class degree in Pure and Applied Mathematics and Information Technology. His honours thesis was focused on neural networks and syntactic machine learning, long before the recent explosion in interest around these techniques.

He has since lived and worked across the globe (including Asia, the US and the UK) and over the past 25 years has built and sold five technology businesses. Most recently, he was co-founder and board director at visual AI company Cortexica, acquired by Zebra Technologies. Past successes include Azea Networks, which he grew from concept to 8 figure sales levels before acquisition.

At Pragmatic, Scott has led the development of a globally unique flexible semiconductor platform able to connect everyday objects to the Internet of Everything, and is now leading key strategic initiatives including global expansion and championing applications of Pragmatic’s technology across key societal challenges including sustainable growth, ubiquitous healthcare, and national security.
