Giles is a Partner who assists clients in dealing with competition investigations (including dawn raids), securing merger clearances and ensuring Competition law compliance in agreements and day-to-day business arrangements. He represents clients before the OFT, the Competition Commission, the European Commission and the Competition Appeal Tribunal, as well as the sectoral regulators.

Giles has particular expertise in competition investigations by the OFT and the European Commission (he is advising a national construction company on the OFT's construction industry investigation). He also regularly represents clients in mergers, in particular having acted on a number of building products cases before the OFT and the Competition Commission.
