Gail Grant is the UK Head of Government Affairs for AbbVie, a global biopharmaceutical company headquartered in the US.
AbbVie’s mission is to discover and deliver innovative medicines that solve serious health issues today and address the medical challenges of tomorrow. The company strives to have a remarkable impact on people’s lives across several key therapeutic areas: immunology, oncology, neuroscience, eyecare and virology.
Gail has spent more than 20 years working as an external affairs expert in the NHS, the British Medical Association and in AbbVie. During her time at the BMA, she was involved in shaping the debate on the medical workforce, and led campaigning on a range of public health policies including legislation for smoke free public places in Scotland, alcohol policy and presumed consent for organ donation.
At AbbVie, Gail’s work is focused on supporting industry efforts to streamline access to medicines in the UK, from early drug development through to patient access in the NHS.
